geothermal energy is the process of tapping heat derived from the earth itself. There are various different methods of exploiting this resource, from simple heat transfer to both heat and cool buildings, to industrial strength plants using geo-thermal hot spots near tectonic plate joins to power steam generators which produce electricty for use in the national grid.

One of the nice things about geothermal energy is that it's scalable and flexible. There are real world applications which provate individuals and households can use to benefit from this renewable, through larger systems aimed at small business, right up to the big boys mentioned above.
